Whiskey glasses

Whiskey glasses are designed specifically to enhance the aroma, flavor and experience of drinking whiskey. Common types include the tumbler, which is a short glass with a thick base; the snifters, also called balloons and best for appreciating whiskey neat; tall and narrow highballs and the tapered Glencairn glasses, specifically designed for nosing. Whiskey glasses are built for swirling whiskey, concentrating its aromas and accomodating ice.

Did you know? Early whiskey vessels were wooden cups known as quaichs.
