Jeroboam

(jeh-ruh-bow-uhm)
DEFINITION

Jeroboam

A Jeroboam is a large format wine bottle that holds either 3 liters (4 standard 750 ml bottles) in Champagne and Burgundy, or 4.5 liters (6 standard bottles) in Bordeaux. Jeroboams are ideally used for aging fine wines for extended periods, or to serve as a centerpiece for serving in large gatherings.

Did you know? A Jeroboam holds 3 litres in Champagne and Burgundy, but the same bottle size is called a Double Magnum in Bordeaux.
