Malbec

(mal-bek)
DEFINITION

Malbec

Malbec is a full bodied red wine crafted from grapes of the same name. It is deep purple in color, with velvety texture and plush dark fruit notes like blackberry, black cherry and plum. Originally from France, it is now the most well known Argentinian grape, where it grows at extremely high altitudes (up to 10,000 feet). Malbec is best served slightly below room temperature (60-65°F) and paired with grilled red meats.

Did you know? Malbec is easily identified at blind tastings by its deep purple red color and one of a kind magenta tinged rim.
