(shaa-duh-nay)
DEFINITION

Chardonnay

Chardonnay is the most widely planted white grape variety globally, a versatile, green skinned grape used to make white wines. Originating in Burgundy, France, it thrives worldwide today, with major producers in California, Washington and New Zealand. Its wines are dry and medium to full bodied, ranging from crisp and citrusy to buttery oaked versions. Chardonnay is used in Chablis, White Burgundy and Champagne.

Did you know? Chablis is 100% Chardonnay, just unoaked and higher in acidity due to the fact that it is grown in cool climates.
