DEFINITION

Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo is one of the finest red grape varieties from Piedmont, Italy, used solely to craft prestigious wines like Barolo and Barbaresco. It is renowned for its full bodied, highly tannic, highly acidic and pale colored wines that display intense aromas of rose, cherry and tar. While it is primarily grown in Italy, producers in California, Argentina and Australia also cultivate this grape in small quantities.

Did you know? The name "Nebbiolo" was derived from the Italian word for fog; "nebbia".
