New York Sour
New York Sour
A New York Sour is a 19th century cocktail created by mixing a red wine like Malbec or Shiraz with bourbon or rye whiskey, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup and the optional egg white (for foam). It is an upgraded version of the traditional whiskey sour, with the addition of a vibrant red wine float for added flavor complexity and a striking presentation. Typically served on the rocks (poured over ice), it is recognized by the International Bartenders Association (IBA) as an official cocktail.
