Riesling

(reez-luhng)
DEFINITION

Riesling

Riesling is a highly aromatic white grape variety originating in Germany’s Rhine region, producing wines that range from bone dry to lusciously sweet. It is known for its high acidity, exceptional ability to reflect terroir and a sweetness spectrum that extends through to rich ice wines. Tasting notes typically include citrus, green apple and peach, while aged Rieslings develop a distinctive petrol or mineral character considered a hallmark of the variety.

Did you know? Due to its high acidity and balanced sugars, Riesling can age in the bottle for up to 50 years, unlike most white wines!
